Our WILD RICE is 100% Natural lake rice. There is nothing added or used in the growing, harvesting or processing.

To preserve the purity of the environment, We do not allow gas powered boats on the lake.

My son Parker, which means keeper of the park, is the fourth generation of our family to pick Wild Rice on cedar lake. You will not find much of his rice in this years crop! Our hope is that he learns to appreciate this environment that he is blessed to be growing up in, and treats it with the same respect that we do.

THE LEGEND OF THE RICE

My grandfather Forrest L. Bundy was a trapper and woodsman. He came upon cedar lake back in 1910 when he was duck hunting. He shot some Mallard ducks and proceeded to clean them, right there on the shore of the lake. He threw the contents of their crop (food pouch) into the lake. As it turns out, they had been eating wild rice from another lake and that's how our wild rice was seeded.

Paddy Rice/Cultivated Wild Rice is planted every year by a machine. First it is fertilized, than it has herbicides and pesticides sprayed on it and finally it is harvested with a combine. Then it has to be replanted. In my opinion the crop is changing, the kernel is getting smaller and less resistant to disease. They have taken nature out of the equation and remember...

ITS NOT NICE TO FOOL MOTHER NATURE!!!

So don't be fooled by cheap rice. Be sure that when you want natural, high quality Wild Rice, Buy only naturally occurring CEDAR LAKE, WILD RICE!

As our business grows we have had to find an additional source of natural lake rice. We found the Wild Rice that lived up to our standards in N.W. Manitoba. We do not separate our Cedar Lake Wild Rice from that we get in Manitoba. We feel that, while it doesn't have the romantic quality of our rice, it does meet our standards for taste, looks and length of kernel.

Thanks
