| From: pakotval@tds.net Subject: See what Larry found! Date: June 1, 2004 10:17:36 PM CDT To: joy7000@yahoo.com, duanekuss@mail.warpdriveonline.com Hi, Cheryl and Duane: Brother Larry bought a membership in the New England Historical and Genealogical Society so he could access all their databases of information. See what he found in the Abstracts of Wills in Onandaga County, NY 1791-1841. Abel Gridley is the person that I think is Harriet Gridley Warner's father, based on some information I found awhile ago on another on-line family tree. The bold-face type in the following exerpt is my addition to the abstract information that I copied "as is" from the web site: Abel Gridley had 10 chn: Lucy, wf. of Ashbel Stedman, Wisc. Sally, wf of John Palmer, Ojio (OHIO?) Harry Gridley, idiot, Onon. Leonard Ohio Clement Gridley Rochester Harriet, wf of Aaron Warner Ohio Eunice Gridley Cazenovia John -Van Buren Rhoda, wf of Stephen Mead, of Van Buren Lucina, wf of James Woodruff, Whitesboro, Oneida Co. Gridley, Jabez cont. Asel Gridley left Timothy Lydia, wf of Samuel Beckwith, Illinois Abigail wf of Sylvester Champlain Illinois Asel Sarah Peck left Nancy, wf of Thomas St. John, of Ira Wits: Henry C. Van Schaack, Manlius Joseph Smith Jr. Manlius (Affidavit dated June 28, 1842 "Joseph Smith, Jr., now deceased") Larry said he has found elsewhere the marriage information of Rhoda Gridley and Stephen Mead. He thinks this is the connect to our James W. Warner's cousin Ike Mead that Lucy mentions in her family history information. (She said James W and Ike saw the Indian lynchings at Mankato.) ========================== Pamela A.
