James Harvy Warner told or wrote back to Indiana about the fruit in Minnesota. (Back in Indiana they had nice fruit trees, apples and so on) Aunt Martha Hawkins (his oldest sister) said after she got up to Minnesota, "All there is, is a few little damn blue grapes."
One day when Martha was doing the family wash on the washboard, her little brothers Samuel and Asher hung around saying "Con do er", "Con do er", "Con do er". She got tired of it and took after them.
