Potluck
Brunch – August 8th
On Sunday, August 8th, Bethel congregation will get
together for a potluck picnic brunch following our morning worship. Bring a dish to pass. The church will provide paper plates,
cups, etc. and beverages. Plan for
a time of good fellowship and games for all ages.
Centennial
Planning Meeting
In 2005 Bethel will celebrate 100 years since beginning its
ministry in the Warba area in 1905.
This will be a time to remember our past and look forward to the
future. A planning meeting has been
set for Wednesday, August 25th at 7:00 pm at the church. Several people volunteered to help with
this at the annual meeting; these and anyone interested in helping plan for
this are welcome to come for this meeting.

Warba
Music Nights
Many of you enjoy the music at the Warba Community Center on
Saturday nights. It is a good time
to be together as a community.
Bethel will be serving the lunch on August 28. If you can help talk to Alice Koski.
Harvest
Dinner – September 12
The annual church dinner at Bethel will be September 12. We will be organizing everything for it
during the next few weeks. This is
always a good time for our congregation to work together
Cursillo
Weekends
A number of our members have attended a “Via de Cristo” or
“Cursillo” weekend. Via de Cristo
is a Spanish phrase meaning “Way of Christ.” Via de Cristo is a highly
structured three-day weekend designed to strengthen and renew the faith of
Christian people and bring them to a new awareness of living in God's
grace. It is a combined effort of lay people and clergy toward renewal of
the church.
Zion in Grand
Rapids is hosting “Via de Cristo” weekends at the end of September and
beginning of October. The men’s
weekend is Sept. 23-26, the women’s weekend is Sept. 30-Oct. 3. If you are interested in attending one
of these weekends, talk to the pastors.
These weekends are truly inspirational and well worth the time.
Horse Shoe Time
Every Wednesday at 6 PM (weather permitting) there will be horse
pitching at the recreation area in Warba.
Join in the fun and the fellowship.
You don’t have to be an expert to have fun.
Our budget for 2004 is
$44,150, which means our offerings needs to average $850 each Sunday.
